Don’t you think it’s time to start labeling GMOs?
Updated on 10/20/2016: Yes. We support the national labeling law that was passed by Congress in July of 2016. While the particulars of new label requirements are being defined we have launched search tool to make it easier for our customers to find out what’s in our food.
Updated on 4/1/16: Since this question was posted, Kellogg’s has made the decision to start labelling some of our products, nation-wide, beginning in mid to late April 2016. We made this decision based on specific GMO labeling laws in Vermont that go into effect in July. It is our belief that a national solution to GMO labeling is still in the best interest of consumers across the country and we will continue to work towards that goal.

Original Response on 1/20/15: We agree people should know what’s in their food and we support that transparency. There are already nationwide labeling programs to help consumers make informed decisions – such as the Certified Organic and Non-GMO Project Verified labels which are used on many of our Kashi foods.
Additionally, we welcome the passage of H.R. 1599, “The Safe & Accurate Food Labeling Act” by the House of Representatives. This legislation provides a national standard for GMO labeling and would establish a new certification process at the United States Department of Agriculture for foods labeled as non-GMO.
