Q:

Why do many of your best lines of cereal still include hydrogenated oils?
Robert W.,
Upland, CA

A:

We have been reducing the trans fats in our foods for nearly 10 years and we continue to seek ways to reduce or eliminate partially hydrogenated oils in the small percentage of our foods that have them. Today, more than 95 percent of our foods in the US are labeled 0 grams of trans fat per serving.

At this time, our Special K® cereals, Cheez-It® Original crackers, Simply Made Keebler® cookies, Rice Krispies Treats® and Nutri-Grain® soft baked bars do not include partially hydrogenated oil on their ingredient lists. Also, you may be interested in our Kashi or Bear Naked foods as they have never used partially hydrogenated oil as an ingredient.
