Chai Spiced Kashi® 7 Whole Grain Pilaf Recipe

Kashi® 7 Whole Grain Pilaf topped with sweet, spice-infused milk makes an exquisite breakfast cereal. Green pistachio nuts sprinkled over the top look beautiful against the light golden glow provided by the turmeric and saffron.


  • 2 cups organic low-fat, non-fat or soy milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • Dash saffron (optional)
  • 1/8 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons light-colored local organic honey or agave syrup (to taste)
  • 1 packet (6.5 oz.) Kashi® 7 Whole Grain Pilaf


1. Cook pilaf according to package directions.

2. Meanwhile, pour milk into medium saucepan. Whisk in cinnamon, coriander, cardamom, turmeric, salt and saffron (if desired). Heat over medium heat. Just before milk boils, reduce the heat. Simmer milk about 5 minutes. Stir in honey and vanilla (if desired). Whisk until sweetener dissolves.

4. Pour spiced milk over pilaf. Serve warm.
