Q:

[As one of the leading food companies in America], Why aren't you making healthier foods?

A:

We are. Our goal is always to listen to you and deliver more of what you want and need, less of what you are trying to reduce. We’ve made substantial strides over the years to increase nutrients that are considered important for overall health – things like fiber, vitamin D, calcium and iron. Today we offer more ready-to-eat cereals that are a good source of fiber with 3 grams per serving than any other U.S. food company – that’s important since 95% of Americans don’t get enough fiber in their diets.

We’ve also reduced the amount of sugar in our U.S. kids’ cereals over the past few years by 20 to 30 percent and have completely removed high fructose corn syrup from our cereals. Today, less than four percent of the daily added sugar that is eaten in the U.S. comes from ready-to-eat cereals. 1
